At Organic-tree-farm-com we specialize in large Native trees 8' and up to 20' or more.  We grow B&B (Ball
and Basket) in the field which are available during the digging season (Nov.-April) and above ground in
Meshpots  all year round. We also dig Evergreen trees in the fall Sept.-Dec. E-mail us if you have a
particular tree want and if we don't have it currently ready to ship, we can get it at one of our associated
Nursery partner farms.
Jesse Heard is digging these 15 year old Dark Green Arborvitae 14-16' tall and were shipped from our
Kentucky farm to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia to be screening trees between lake vacation homes.
Most of our field trees are dug by Jesse with our German made Shaeff tractor & Optimal Tree Spade. The
Optimal digs a shallow (16-18" deep ball that's wider than usual to allow more feeder roots and less
unnecessary dirt.
We pot our container stock with compost mixed with peanut hulls custom mixed for us by
Royal Oak Farms, a leading supplier of organic mixes and mulch. This organic soiless mix has Espoma
Plantone added to give every tree a good start in their containers. We use the same mix in our MeshPot
(patent pending) planting system, a new way to grow large trees above ground with no transplanting
shock even when planted in the middle of summer.
